Inside World Beyond
World Beyond revisits the ten songs from World Be Gone with Andy Bell and Echo Collective. It also changes the running order: “Oh What a World” opens, while “Love You to the Sky” moves further into the album. Piano, strings, harp, and other acoustic instruments bring different details into focus.
“Be Careful What You Wish For” takes on a more intimate, uneasy character when the voices and acoustic instruments come forward. “A Bitter Parting” and “Take Me Out of Myself” benefit from the extra air. The brighter “Love You to the Sky” has to find lift without its original propulsion.
Do not choose between the two versions. Play them in sequence. The value of World Beyond lies in hearing composition, voice, and arrangement separate from one another and then lock back together.
