Inside I Say I Say I Say
“Always” is the song most likely to bring you to I Say I Say I Say, but the rest of the album deserves attention too. The arrangements are softer than those on Chorus, with the same care for a catchy synth part and a strong vocal melody.
“Run to the Sun” is quick and bright; “I Love Saturday” keeps the mood upbeat. “So the Story Goes” and “Because You’re So Sweet” are quieter and more reflective. Those changes of pace give the album plenty to offer beyond its best-known single.
For a next move, go backward to Chorus for tighter arrangements and brighter synth sounds, or forward to the self-titled Erasure album for longer songs and more adventurous arrangements.
