Day-Glo (Based on a True Story) is not the next conventional Erasure studio album after The Neon. It is a companion made by reworking material from the same sessions into new shapes.

That origin explains the sensation of recognition without simple repetition. Fragments, atmospheres, and altered structures turn the bright outlines of The Neon into an afterimage. The record is less interested in delivering ten new pop singles than in exposing how studio material can be dismantled and made emotionally strange.

Hear The Neon first, then play Day-Glo without a gap. The relationship between them is the content. In March 2026, Erasure HQ separately confirmed work on a new Erasure album; no title or release date has been announced.
